About the event - Ofsted have made clear how important it is that learners learn and make progress, and that learners understand what progress they are making. In this session we will look at how effective practice in target / goal development, helps drive learner progress, and learner recognition of their achievement.
Learning Outcomes -
Aim: To help participants develop their understanding of how to develop SMART targets and goals in Learner Progress Reviews.
Outcomes: By end of the webinar participants should be able, or better able to describe and explain

the importance of target ownership and the consequences of not achieving ownership

the characteristics of well written targets

the use of mini action plans to aid target achievement.
Target Audience
This session is designed for practitioners looking to improve their target and goal setting ability, and managers with staff CPD responsibilities looking for new ideas for internal CPD events.
Learning Process
The webinar will be a highly interactive experience. All participants will be asked to respond to questions, to complete learning tasks, and to share ideas and experiences with others in the group.
About the facilitator Sean Errington - Sean has been involved in Learning Provider staff CPD delivery since 2002. He has worked with a wide range of organisations to develop staff and manager capability. He has worked in the post 16 learning sector since 1981, but also has experience in teaching in schools and post graduate education. In addition to teaching and training, Sean also worked for 3 years for the organisation now called Ofqual, and for various education Inspectorates as an additional inspector from 1998 to 2014.
